Take advantage of free time to read: young people and reading approach with 'Never without your book'

The Federation of Publishers Guilds of Spain is developing until December 15 a Campaign for the Promotion of Reading through social networks and the Internet. The activity has adopted the slogan 'Never without your book' and intends especially to encourage young people to take advantage of free time to get closer to reading and books.

Among the various activities promoted in social networks is the opening of a blog as well as a photo contest with reading and books as protagonists.

The effective dates of the campaign are fully justified in the holidays that young people enjoy on the occasion of All Saints, the celebration of the Constitution, the Almudena (in Madrid), as well as in the vicinity of the Christmas holidays. Since it is during the rest days when you can perform activities for which you do not have time at other times. 'Never without your book' also aims to contribute to the development of that great community of readers that is being created on the Internet where opinions, experiences and experiences are shared from the connection that occurs with all those stories found in the books.

Through the blog Leer has Prize, which in previous campaigns served as a logbook of the reading animation campaigns carried out, the experiences of a fictional character -Germán Andújar- will be offered every day and how it relates, in his daily life, With reading and books.

From them, data on reading habits will be presented in Spain, initiatives of interest related to the promotion of reading as well as recommendations from other blogs dedicated to this objective, among other aspects. The blog will link to social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Tuenti in which he will try to open debates about various issues related to books and reading, so that a profitable interrelation can be generated between the users of them.

Campaign activities

Precisely Facebook will be the place where they will be collected all the photographs submitted to the contest "Never without your book" in which the book and reading will be protagonists. Users of the social network may send their photograph in which they or others appear with a book. They will also have the opportunity to vote the one they like best.

At the end of the campaign, the most voted will receive various prizes (eReaders and stays in unique places to enjoy reading). Each day one or several photographs will be highlighted through the Campaign Blog and on Flickr. All these actions will be supported with a banner campaign on the most followed travel and leisure websites in Spain.

All people who book activities through these pages, upon receiving or printing their reservations, will be reminded through advertising messages not to forget to include in their suitcases or backpacks a book to enjoy it during their rest days.
