The tetanus vaccine

A small wound caused by a blow or a fall that in principle is not important, may not be so unimportant. First we must identify the object that caused the injury, whether it is an iron or an object that is very dirty. If so, it is advisable to protect the child against tetanus.

The tetanus vaccine It consists of several shots that must be supplied in compliance with the schedule set by the pediatrician, the first shot is usually administered at three months, the second at five months and the third at seven months. In addition to these doses, another one is usually given at 18 months and another at five or six years.

If the child is being vaccinated and subsequently harmed, it is no longer necessary, because of evil, to re-inject the vaccine, since the child has the antibodies of the vaccine in his body and they will act effectively. Tetanus bacteria are usually found in the soil, although it is also true that they can be found anywhere, the danger begins when tetanus spores enter the wound beyond the range of oxygen (they are anaerobic, that is, they live in the absence of air ), these germinate and end up producing a toxin that interferes with the nerves that control the muscles. This infection is so serious that if it is not vaccinated, it can cause death.

For this reason, we put so much emphasis on clarifying what tetanus is and trying to ensure absolute prevention to ensure the child's well-being.
