Jehovah's Witnesses ban transfusions to save their babies

Do you remember that a few days ago I told you that sextuplets were born in Canada?

Well, I don't have good news about babies, because two of them died and three of them have had to receive blood transfusions to survive although his parents, who are Jehovah's Witnesses, do not conceive of this practice.

The British Columbia government, where they live, has had to go over the parents' decision to authorize them to perform the medical interventions necessary to save their lives.

Just a couple of days ago we were commenting on two similar cases in which parents refused to test their newborn babies for blood because of their religious beliefs.

According to the father of the sextuplets, neither he nor the mother could bear to be in the hospital while they "raped" their daughter, talking about the moment in which they passed her blood.

I wonder, is saving a baby's life unable to decide about their own life "rape"?

Maybe I don't understand anything, but I can't believe that parents are able to let their own children die because of a religious belief.

Luckily, in this case the government has been able to intervene although unfortunately it has not been able to save the other two.
