We assume that many of you will think alike, how can it be that oral health, except for extraction, has to be treated in private centers ?, precisely teeth are a necessary "tool" for proper nutrition, poor hygiene, poor care or an infection in teeth or gums can have a fatal outcome, and on top of that the treatments are very expensive, which is why many people cannot perform them.
In short, that oral health, as we have repeatedly recalled in Babies and more, should begin to take care of themselves from very young, so future problems, and of various kinds, will be avoided.
A very laudable initiative that the Government of Aragon launched two years ago and that is carried out by the Department of Health and Consumption, is the Free oral health program For children, almost 9,000 children between 6 and 7 years old were treated last year, four out of ten children born between 1999 and 2000 received revisions or treatments. This year the Aragonese children who were born in 2001 join the program, a total of 11,850 Aragonese children will be able to receive the different types of assistance that enter this program, reviews, caries performances, malformations, sanitary instructions on hygiene and diet and health care oral emergencies.
The Government of Aragon refers to all households in which there are children who turn six a letter with an explanatory pamphlet, a checkbook to access free assistance and a list of dentists to which they can go. A total of 264 dentists collaborate in this work.
Surely in a few years, the Aragonese population will have very beautiful smiles, healthy mouths and little resentful pockets.
