War toys are still sold (and bought)

We were waiting a few days ago at the school door for three o'clock to arrive and open the door when two children armed with war toys They approached us to "kill us."

My son, and other children who apparently had not seen a toy gun in his life, were surprised, still, patidifuse, before him "Pum, pum, dead" of those children.

We were also amazed by the parents that in 2009, in the 21st century, still war toys are sold and bought.

We also play with them.

"What's wrong?" Many parents will ask, "we also play with them." And it is true, I had a shotgun with a cork and a jump rope when firing. I had a gun that looked real but only made the sound of a firecracker when shooting, I had water guns and I sure had more weapons that I don't remember now and look, "I'm not a murderer or a criminal."

Hundreds of people are able to say that they had weapons and have not become murderers, but of course, I doubt that the current criminal or the current murderer ever says “I had weapons and war toys and well, yes, I became the character of my childhood games. ”

So we do not know if the fact of having war toys or can not predispose to generate potentially violent adults, so the debate should not go here, looking for the "what's wrong", but for another site, asking: "What's up?”.

What's up?

Well, nothing. It brings nothing to the child who shoots except the fun of imagining that it has the power to hurt others (If he can imagine it, because many do not even know what death is) and does not contribute anything to the child who is shot, because he does not have to understand that he has been killed.

One may think that it is fun to play Indians and cowboys and that the one who shoots first wins. Okay, it can be fun, but you can use other similar games where nobody kills anyone and where you have to, for example, touch and avoid being touched.

As a father I received very badly the shots of those two children. They do not make any grace to me and although I love playing with the children and doing the clown, that they shoot me does not fall within what I consider a fun game, so I limit myself to staying still in plan “if you shoot me, I am invincible” .

I think dtoo much pain we have seen adults today simply turning on the television at three in the afternoon to allow our children to play to harm other people.
