"Childbirth in the age of plastics": new book by Michel Odent

He has not yet arrived in Spain but it will certainly not take long. This is the new obstetrician book referring to natural childbirth, Michel Odent, which has been published in English and will be a new reflection and a challenge for childbirth care medicine today. Its titled “Childbirth in the age of plastics”, that is to say "The birth in the era of plastics".

It presents us with a vision of childbirth from the point of view of current medicine, which has changed completely with the arrival of plastic. If in general medicine this change has allowed drugs to be administered by plastic catheters and has allowed them to develop as we know them today as services such as intensive care or neonatology, the way in which women give to birth and their children are born.

In an intervened hospital birth, the woman is connected to a plastic bag with serum that includes medications such as synthetic oxytocin and catheter anesthesia that is inserted into her spinal cord. This involves major changes in the way births are attended.

Michel Odent, author of basic works to better understand our essence and our birth, such as "The baby is a mammal", "The functions of orgasms" and "Fetal life, the birth and future of humanity" intends, with "Childbirth in the age of plastics", explain how we are born and how this can profoundly influence the future of Humanity.

In Babies and more | Michel Odent: "When the mother interferes with the birth of another mammal, the mother does not take care of her baby", Michel Odent: "We must release the love hormone to improve births", The industrialization of births
