Different: illustrated guide for children about diversity and disability

Children can understand things perfectly if we explain them with patience and affection. Explain that each of us is special and different, and that there are people with certain disabilities can be very simple especially if we have help, such as Illustrated guide for children on diversity and disability entitled Different, edited by the Adecco Foundation and OHL.

It helps us, thanks to the illustrations, to explain to children that all people and families are different, as well as address, through various protagonists, everyday issues such as school, friends, hobbies, the importance of food, sports, and finally focuses on people with disabilities, trying to get the child to know them to understand them better.

Different It is recommended for children from 4 to 8 years old, it can be downloaded for free in pdf (you have the two parts of the guide in the link below) and it contains simple activities for the little ones to do and can understand in a more real way the differences of each one, something as simple as, for example, fingerprints.

I recommend you read the Illustrated guide for children about diversity and disability with your children so that from a very young age they begin to know a reality sometimes hard, but necessary to face the barriers that exist around people with disabilities. Making them see the things that differentiate us from people and those that make us equal is a good start.
