The Dic-Dic application for kids to learn vocabulary and spelling on the iPad

Since I studied Kalimba, a tiny Girona company dedicated to the creation of digital educational content, and in association with Perception Technologies, have successfully published their first iPad educational application on iTunes. It's about him Dec-Dec. His application is making noise because in the first month they received congratulatory messages from users in Spain appearing for 15 days among the most downloaded educational applications. The success is also international because they have managed to pay attention to countries such as Brazil, the United States, Mexico, UK and Canada.

Dec-Dic is a perfect educational game to learn to spell words Commonly used in several languages. The audiovisual dictation of words includes three levels of difficulty and allows children from 3 to 12 years old, learn spelling and vocabulary in a fun way.

Although the application has two particularities that surprised me, one, the number of languages included: Spanish, French, English and Catalan. The other, which takes advantage of the use of the keyboard to enter the letters which correspond to the image that appears in the application. In this way they eliminate the question of spelling and go directly to the kids using the keyboard, better both hands and all fingers! to introduce the characters, and attentive, because in French and Spanish you must also check the accents.

The application is priced at 1.79 euros, is in the education category and was launched in July 2013. It weighs 40.7 MB and has been developed by Perception Technologies and Estudi Kalimba

It is a 100% secure application, without advertising or integrated sales, simple and intuitive operation, so that our children can play with complete autonomy and security.

The game allows you to choose at any time the level of difficulty in which you want to play, what language you want to practice and the use or not of clues. The clues allow younger children to consolidate the learning of letters in association with their sound. The voices that appear in the game are from children and also include some catchy music to entertain while learning.

From Estudi Kalimba they have told us that they are including improvements and novelties in the Dec-Dec and that they will soon publish new educational applications, so we will be happy to comment on them here. We wish them good luck with their work and hope they have many successes.
