The baby with the most reasons to smile: she was born with two teeth!

Until the first month of life babies do not begin to give us what is commonly called "social smile", which is what the baby does in response to a stimulus from the father or mother. Before that, they make other smiles, usually while they sleep or if we stroke their faces, with less intention.

All of them make us feel tenderness and affection, and sometimes there are babies who get that, thanks to their smiles, everyone is aware of them. A few days ago a girl was born in Missouri who captured all the attention with her smile because, to the astonishment of her parents and professionals who attended them, was born with two teeth.

It happened at the end of last month, when the father took the baby in his arms and realized that he had something in his mouth. Looking closely, he found that his daughter, his newborn baby, had two lower teeth, the first two teeth that usually leave after six months of age (as of, sometimes they do not come out until 7 or 8 months, and sometimes they take even longer).

It's weird but relatively usual

It does not usually happen, it is a strange condition, but it is relatively common. According to statistics, the so-called natal teeth are presented in one in 2,000 or 3,000 births. Sometimes they are related to some associated syndrome, but usually they don't want to say anything. In the case of Alyssa Bella Bailey, the protagonist girl of this entry, any related deficiency has already been ruled out and she is considered a perfectly healthy girl.

The risk of being born with teeth

Being born with teeth is a curious thing, but since it is not usual, because the baby does not need those teeth at all, it can lead to risks that parents must take into account. Many times they are poorly formed teeth, caught only by the gum by the edge and consequently not very firm. In such cases, they are usually removed before the baby leaves the hospital through the obvious risk of detachment and the baby can drown with them ("breathe" them).

In the case of this girl, it seems that they are well held and for now they will be left. The parents, even so, have been informed to control them.

It may also happen that they bother the baby to eat, irritating the tongue and even causing wounds. If the mother breastfeeds, it may also bother you at some times.

Jaklina Bailey, the girl's mother, explains that many people ask her about it, about the pain of breastfeeding, but that is giving a bottle. Breast milk is taken out and bottle fed, so in that sense you cannot say that they bother you or stop bothering you.
