It is actually known as "pixel art" a form of digital creation, but here we move away from the computer and make a Craft with children from four years (eye with small parts) that helps children develop their motor skills and hands-sight coordination, as well as their ability to concentrate and their creativity.
The bases are prepared to insert the small colored beads making the silhouette and shape that is desired, with the combination of colors that the boy or girl likes best. Once the creation is finished and carefully so that the pieces do not come out, mom or dad intervene to ensure that the accounts are assembled and the figure is one piece.
This is done by ironing the plastic beads on the base at low temperature, placing a suitable paper (it comes with the craft set and we can also use baking paper) between the beads and the iron to protect the model. The heat causes the small pieces to stick to each other and once allowed to cool we can separate the figure from the base.
We bought in Ikea for 6'99 the jar of polyethylene balls and for 2'50 four different bases in which to insert the beads. In multi-price stores we also find different bases and colored beads to make "pixel art", some of basic shapes and others with animal silhouettes ...
We already have pandas, bees, hearts, dolphins, houses, trees and even SpongeBob and Mickey Mouse made using this entertaining technique. As soon as summer vacations arrive, we will surely expand the repertoire! Many models can be found online.
