Fresh sausages in mash. Recipe for children

One of the difficulties that parents have when babies begin to grow is to accustom them to chew and give them solid foods especially when they start eating salty. One of the first recipes that both my son and my nieces have enjoyed has been that of Fresh sausages in mash.

The savory and slightly spicy sausage flavor combines very well with the neutral taste of the mash that provides a smooth texture, like porridge helping them to eat. Cutting the sausages in pieces appropriate to their age, will be one of your favorite dishes until eight or nine years old. (I still love it, on the other hand)

Ingredients for 3 children

  • For the mash: 2 large potatoes, 50 g of butter, 4 tablespoons of milk, salt
  • For the recipe: 200 g of puree, 3 fresh butcher sausages, 50 ml of chicken broth, chives and salt

How to make fresh sausages in mashed potatoes

In a saucepan, we cook the peeled potatoes and chopped in water with a little salt. Let cook for about 20 minutes until we can crush the potatoes easily by squeezing with a fork.

We prepare a puree by adding the butter and milk and beat the crushed potatoes until a creamy texture. We reserve the mash. In a pan, we brown the sausage pieces.

It is preferable not to cut them very small, since they are best handled in size of approximately two cm. Then we will have time to cut them at the end of the recipe. Once the sausages are golden brown, add the chicken broth and let them cook for a few minutes so that the meat is even softer.

Remove the sausages and in the saucepan that has been left in the pan, add the puree letting it warm. Add the sausages and sprinkle with chives, bringing the plate to the table where the children will be waiting for us with the bib on.
