Beautiful images of the newborn in the fetal position: that is how it was inside you

The postures that babies take in the womb are quite curious. It is something that mothers love to know, to play to guess how it will be placed, where their legs will be, their little arms ... What we do know is that they are such compact positions that it seems incredible that they can be comfortable there for nine months.

Marry Fermont, a Dutch photographer dedicated to birth photography, has thought that it could be a beautiful memory for parents to capture images of the newborn in the fetal position, in the position in which he was inside his mother's womb.

Fetal position

How is it possible for a baby to "fit" into the uterus? At the beginning of pregnancy it has room to move at ease, but as the space grows, it reduces causing the baby to adopt a very particular posture known as fetal position, in which even if you don't believe it, it feels very comfortable.

Due to the flexibility of his bones, the baby can remain in this posture without harming himself. The back is curved, the head tilted forward and the limbs bent and directed towards the torso.

An unforgettable memory

In the first job as a photographer for Marry's birth, the midwife was kind enough to teach the parents the position in which her baby had been inside the womb, and took a picture of that moment.

Since then, he does it every time he performs a photo shoot from birth, encouraging parents to take their baby in that posture. Now, it is the parents themselves who ask for it to save a very special memory of the newborn.

The result is images as beautiful as you can see in this post.
