"LoonCup": the new vaginal cup capable of analyzing the amount and color of the ruler

The vaginal cupFor those who do not know it, it is a relatively recent invention, much promoted by environmentalists, which is introduced into a woman's vagina when she has her period to collect the fluids. When it is full, or when a few hours have passed, it is removed, emptied and cleaned and replaced (or stored for deep cleaning afterwards, placing a spare if you are not at home).

Thanks to it, the need to use tampons is reduced, you can know more accurately how abundant your period is and, according to my wife, you can be (a little more) happy, to the point of telling me "How I didn't meet her before".

Well, now comes the 2.0 cup, called LoonCup, which is always the device but with various sensors that quantify the amount that is collected, analyze the color and send information to a mobile app so that the woman knows how everything goes with her rule.

Get something electronic in your vagina?

Already, it is not something that seems to be very appealing to anyone (well, there are people who do like it, for other needs, but it is not the subject right now), basically because the invention, thus explained, sounds a bit absurd. Why does a woman want to have a vaginal cup with a drums (lasts about six months and is not rechargeable nor can it be replaced), various sensors, an antenna and bluetooth 4.0?

And the answer is simple: a woman who has no major problem with her rules does not need it at all, and it is up to her to decide if she wants to analyze her menstruation in that way or not. But for a woman who does have problems, who has abundant, irregular and / or painful rules, it could be a very useful element.

Come on applied to medicine is a very important and useful advance. It is not the same to go to the gynecologist and explain that you have an abundant and colored rule such as pulling brown, or red, or ... that having the information quantified and analyzed by sensors, much more objective (there are already gynecologists who indicate women to wear the vaginal cup to have more accurate data and make a better diagnosis).

Loon Labs work

The new vaginal cup, the LoonCup, capable of quantifying and analyzing the rule, is an invention of Loon Labs. Right now it is a Kickstarter campaign that seeks financing and in just 3 days it has more than $ 15,000 raised. The price of the promotional drink is $ 30. When the campaign ends, it will be $ 40.

What do you think about the vaginal cup as a solution to menstruation? And is it with sensors capable of analyzing it?
