Summer walks: how to protect your baby from heat

Going for a walk with our baby is one of the most beneficial activities we can do for both the little ones and for us. Walking while our little one knows and explores their surroundings is very enriching, and it is also possible to do it in summer, despite the heat, following a few recommendations.

The first thing is avoid going out in the central hours of the day if it is very hot. It is much better to take a walk at the beginning of the morning or at the end of the day, and if it can be in a cool place (near a river, the sea or just in the shade), much better. The sounds of nature will also stimulate our baby while relaxing with the walk.

Avoid direct sun exposure

During the first year, it is essential prevent the sun from directly and, later, we must protect him with high protection cream, a hat that covers his head and sunglasses appropriate to his age.

We should not forget either bring mineral water Always on hand with us to hydrate our baby and offer it often to avoid heat stroke.

It is also essential to dress the little one with light and fresh clothes, of cotton or linen. We can leave your legs and feet exposed if it is very hot, but watching at all times that they are not very exposed to the sun.

Do not worry if you see your baby a little sweaty: until 18 or 20 months babies have the immature body thermoregulation system, which means they can stay cold in a minute or sweat too much. If this happens, you can cool the baby carefully, pouring water or a damp towel. The important thing is to avoid sudden temperature changes and run away from the air conditioner at full power.

A well equipped cart

If we ride in a cart, it is a good idea to have a gauze muslin nearby, in case we have to cover the baby at the end of the day without giving it more heat. This garment can also be useful to make some more shade if necessary (but be careful, always without completely covering the cart, so that we let the air pass), or as a blanket on which to lie or support you if we take a break in the Park or garden. If we have mosquito net for our chair, it is a good idea to use it on these walks.

To prevent the sun from directly giving you we can also use an umbrella or protect it with the hood of the cart, an aspect that we have to take into account when buying the stroller for our baby. We will have to play with them depending on the different positions of the sun during our walk.

The wide hood of the Liteway stroller is an example of this. It is versatile and serves to protect both heat in summer and cold in winter, thanks to its fabric. In addition, it is a comfortable and comfortable chair, perfect for walks in summer, either by city or for excursions and for our baby to take a restful nap, if you need it. It is light, foldable and fresh, perfect for these dates.

Bring spare clothes, bib, diapers, wipes, a cloth changer, pacifiers and some toy It will make us feel safer to spend a few hours away from home.

With this series of recommendations we can enjoy pleasant and beneficial walks with our baby also in summer.
