The IVI will provide psychological support to couples who resort to assisted reproduction

He Valencian Institute of Infertility (IVI) alerts on the status of couples who attend assisted reproduction treatments, 90% of them suffer stress and anxiety, which hinders the ability to conceive.

As we have already talked about Babies and more, bad life habits hinder the couple's fertility, and the obsession to achieve pregnancy too.

According to the IVI, women who show a high state of anxiety ovulate 20% less, their eggs fertilize 30% less and have a 20% more chance of abortion. All this has led this Institute to Offering a psychological support service to couples for free, because achieving a positive mood favors the possibility of pregnancy.

The director of the IVI, Amparo Ruiz explains that couples who receive assisted reproduction treatment, live three different phases in which psychological support must also focus differently.

One before the diagnosis, where they will know the reason for their infertility, another with the medical treatment and the third with the results, when after the treatment they must wait between 15 and 20 days to know if the conception has been a success or not.

If the result is negative, the penalty floods the emotional state of the couple, if it is positive, despite the great joy the fear of having an abortion appears.

That is why the service that the IVI wants to provide to couples who resort to the treatments they perform, balancing emotions and fighting possible disorders such as anxiety or depression is very encouraging, being parents will be easier.
