A beautiful children's movie: Momo

"Momo, a time trial adventure" It is a movie that I have seen several times with students up to 12 years after reading the book, and in general they liked it a lot. I consider it a fabulous movie for all audiences that from 4 or 5 years old they will enjoy the adventures of little Momo and her friends.

The animated film is based on a novel by Michael Ende (also author of "The Endless Story") and tells the adventures of the young protagonist, an orphan girl, to save his friends and the entire city from the evil gray men.

These gray men are nothing other than those in charge of stealing time from young and old in a city that could be any of ours. A society in which parents no longer have time for anything but work and children have forgotten their friends or how to play through imagination.

A beautiful fable full of magic, of adventures, of endearing characters and that exalts values as important as that of friendship, bravery, fantasy... and ultimately the value of Time.

The Master Hora, the Cassiopeia turtle, Beppo Sweeper, Gigi Storyteller, the affectionate Momo ... Through these characters we are shown the little importance of fame, consumerism or materialism when enjoying a true friendship and a space for pamper it and cultivate it.

As I say, a lesson for all audiences. The movie is from 2001 and its director is Enzo D'Alò. There is also a film version of 1985, directed by Johannes Schaaf, although I have not seen it.
