'Ian, a story that will mobilize us', a lively short film that talks about love and inclusion

We still can't see the whole short, just the trailer, and it has already managed to conquer us. It tells the true story of Ian, a nine-year-old boy, with chronic non-evolutionary encephalopathy (which influences his mobility and language), told by Sheila Graschinsky, his mother.

It is a message full of love that mobilizes this mother and leads her to fight because the place in the society that corresponds to your child is recognized.

Human and artistic quality

'Ian' began his trip at the Cannes Film Festival and since then the short film has won three awards for Best Animation and Best Short Film, and has been selected in more than twenty festivals. He is now competing to be nominated for the 2019 Oscars.

But in addition to its indisputable quality as a film (patent for the awards received) its final objective must be highlighted, as explained by those who have made it possible:

"Bringing disability closer to all children, promoting their contact with this reality, guiding them in this process so that they acquire concrete tools and can be supportive people, free from prejudices and future adults prepared to give rise to a new culture in which the inclusion be the protagonist ".

No dialogues

Under the production of Gastón Gorali and Juan José Campanella, partners of the Mundo Loco production company, and the direction of Abel Goldfarb, the film combines 3D animation and Stop Motion, and includes real models made with recyclable material.

The characters were designed, modeled and digitally textured with the perception of being made of many pieces of paper, photos and texts, so that they can be assembled, disassembled and reassembled. The reason, according to Oscar-winning director Juan José Campanella:

"All people are made up of many fragments that make us who we are. This multiplicity is dynamic, it allows us to arm and disarm ourselves, modifying our own perception and the world around us."

In addition, the short film does not use dialogues to express children's feelings, thus achieving total global accessibility.
