Imaginarium eco-friendly battery charger

We are increasingly aware of the importance of recycling and saving energy. One of the most polluting waste that exists are batteries, which contain highly toxic metals and that, if thrown in the trash, reach the water cycle through rain or gas by burning the trash.

For this reason it is very important to recycle them by throwing them into the container intended for it, however Spain does not have a battery recycling plant so the remedy is still a problem. That is why it is best to try to use the least possible.

One solution is the use of rechargeable batteries, which although they also pollute, are reusable up to 500-1000 times, and another solution, buy toys that do not need energy, or that can receive it by plug into the mains.

This is why I liked these Imaginarium toys. As you can see in the image, it is a 2-battery charger, with the naked eye, normal and current, but with the exception that get energy from totally natural sources, namely:

  • E Energy Wind: Wind turbine that collects wind energy. A perfect possibility to know the wind energy. Measures: 39 (wingspan) x 48.5 x 19 cm.
  • E Energy Solar: A solar panel that through a support can be oriented to receive the force of the sun and charge the batteries of the charger (I love this one).
  • E Energy Dinamo: A dynamo to generate energy with the movement of the hand. Transforms mechanical energy into electrical energy.

All three can be used in isolation or added to each other to charge the batteries in less time. The charger has a digital indicator to know the state of charge at all times and includes an adapter for AAA batteries.

The batteries must be AA of up to 1300 mAh, which although they can be purchased are of a somewhat low capacity compared to the 2500 mAh that today's rechargeable ones usually have, however I understand that if the capacity were much higher the charges would be they would space more in time and the toy could lose its grace.

All devices are sold separately for 22 euros each, so the entire collection is 88 euros in disbursement, high for my liking.

I think it's a great idea for children to know other sources of energy, to adapt to a responsible consumption of electricity and so that they are aware that the energy that moves their toys has been obtained in an ecological way.
