Highlights of the week: February 16-23

This week we have brought, as we always try, news and varied information that may be of interest to parents.

Lola has brought us two basic consultation topics: Cough in children and Pregnancy embryo, which will surely serve to clear up many doubts.

We have echoed how the Spanish Fertility Society has released data on this area, increasingly demanded by society. We have learned that Spain is the third European country in assisted reproduction and also the high rate of multiple pregnancies by assisted reproduction in our country. In this sense we have also talked about the rise of reproductive tourism in Argentina.

We have brought information on breastfeeding, starting with the Million Campaign: Supporting mothers so they can breastfeed, which is promoted by international breastfeeding organizations. We have learned from new data that reinforce the already known benefits of breastfeeding, such as that breastfeeding reduces the risk of relapse in women with multiple sclerosis and that breastfeeding reduces the risk of pneumonia in girls. We have also echoed a new indication of problems with artificial milk for babies with Danone under investigation for adulterated milk in China. And contrasting with all this, again, a fact of intolerance towards breastfeeding has subsided: a mother has been expelled from the Civil Registry of Talavera for breastfeeding.

We have talked about preparation for motherhood and the needs of pregnant women. Traumas in pregnancy affect the mental health of the child and very few women prepare for pregnancy, although it is known to be of great importance.

And to end the week sweetly, our Armando has given us the ears with the most beautiful songs for our children. A beautiful subject.
