Differences between boys and girls: how do times change?

The title of this work is "I'm glad I'm a boy !, I'm glad I'm a girl!" "I'm glad to be a boy! I'm glad to be a girl!". The author, Whitney Darrow Jr. (1909-1999), was an American cartoonist known for his humorous vignettes in which he portrayed his society with a lucid and satirical look.

Apparently, the book was published as satire in 1970. A comic strip, which certainly reproduces many topics, some not so surpassed 40 years later. Because what do you tell me about that boys play with trucks and girls play with dolls? Commercials of this type flood our TVs every day ...

"The boys are pilots, the girls are hostesses", "The boys are soccer players, the girls are cheerleaders", "The boys are presidents, the first ladies girls", "The boys can eat, the girls can cook", "The guys invent, girls use inventions "...

Below you can see some more of these pearls that reproduce gender roles more familiar. At least the end seems endearing to me ... although at the end of the day I also reproduce a topic.

"Boys fix things, girls need things fixed"

"The boys build a house, the girls keep them"

"I'm glad you're a girl, I'm glad you're a boy."

"We need each other".
