World Breastfeeding Week that is celebrated worldwide in August, in Europe moves to October and this year takes place the week from 4 to 10. Many support groups have prepared informative actions to celebrate it but I highlight the one that has took place today in Barcelona, the Tenth Lactation Party, organized by Alba Lactation. It is done in the traditional enclave of the Parc de la Ciutadella and every year it gets a greater influx.
In 2000 Alba decided to start a new project, the Lactation Party, an annual activity that would take place at the beginning of the World Breastfeeding Week.
Ten years later, the Fiesta has become a meeting point for nursing mothers that has been gaining unstoppable participation and social projection.
What with this party was intended, since its birth was to be a playful and open space, a space for dissemination, a showcase where to present to the public present the different projects that are developed to offer support to women who breastfeed, a way to make known the support groups and above all a way to normalize the act of breastfeeding making it visible.
This is a very special year as they celebrate the Tenth Anniversary of the Lactation Party of Alba Lactation and they are pleased to have been able to see that in these ten years the support and information that mothers wishing to breastfeed have improved, hoping that within another ten years the facilities and the percentage of women who will be able to breastfeed according to their wishes will be greater.
