"Maternities": photographing motherhood, by Bru Rovira

Bru Rovira is a reporter who has collected photographs of his travels since 2001. Photographs that represent motherhood in different parts of the world. Fruit of that compilation arises "Maternities", an extensive collection of photographs that represent motherhood.

We already told you that "Maternities" is presented in the form of an exhibition, although I have resumed this news by reading a report about his book. His work has deserved to be published in a book by the Graó editorial.

In the book, along with the photographs of the trips, the reinterpretations that the children of different schools of the First world They have made the photographs, posing themselves, and the sensations they have embodied in texts.

We can see that in the photographs, even having mothers and children as protagonists, different customs and emotions are embodied. Diverse races and cultures, intense emotions, tenderness, abandonment, sadness, poverty, happiness ... and the strength of maternal love as a guiding thread.

We can see mothers living in shacks, in jail, bedridden, smiles, hugs, tears ... a whole range of situations in images of great beauty.
