Sometimes the internet is used to find a lost child

I recently warned you about hoaxes, message chains with false information, which speak of sick or lost children, appealing to our solidarity. They are usually lies, but today I have precisely read a story about a kidnapped kid who has been found thanks to the internet.

The three-year-old was kidnapped in 2008, in China, from the door of his parents' shop. The only image of the incident had been taken by a surveillance camera, but little Wenle had not been found or discovered the offender.

However, journalist Yu Jianrong, a professor of social sciences specializing in internet networks, began to show the picture of the child in the Chinese equivalent of the Twiter as well as those of other children recorded begging in the streets. And little Wenle was identified by an Internet user on February 2 and, after being located and verifying his identity by DNA tests, he has been able to be recovered by his family.

The raptor was a man who wished to have a male child and the little one has been raised by him, already deceased, and his wife, as a true son. In this case, at least, the child was not the victim of prostitution networks or organ trafficking, or of a murderer, although the crime committed and the pain of his family has been enormous during these years.

The boy, when he saw his father, also remembered him and said "That man who is crying is my dad".

After this, a campaign by a non-profit organization has begun and six more children have already been identified, and, despite the fact that there has been some attempt to deceive. The results are obviously positive.

The debate focuses on the use of images of children on the Internet, and yet, given the terrible pain of families, it seems that among the inefficiency of the police search, this method seems to be a success and demonstrates that internet sometimes serves to find a lost child. What do you think about it?
