The first ultrasound of pregnancy: that emotional moment in which you can see your baby

No, their eyes are not seeing double: the test has been positive, they will soon become parents! Now begins a series of preparations and changes in your life, but you should not forget the most important and one of the first things you should do as soon as they know there is a pregnancy: schedule an appointment with the gynecologist.

And then, finally comes the first of many unique and special moments, because although they already know that a baby is coming, now they can see it with their own eyes. Today I tell you about the first ultrasound in pregnancy, that emotional moment when you see your baby.

A baby is coming!

It does not matter if you are a man or a woman, the excitement of knowing that a small or small will soon come to totally change their lives It is something that always fills us with excitement, joy and yes, also a bit (or quite) of nerves. Soon they will stop being just you, to start being someone's parents.

And now? Well, the first thing you should do after discovering that you expect a baby is call to make an appointment with the gynecologist (or if they do not have one yet, it is the right time to look for recommendations that help us find the right one) and start as soon as possible with all the care and recommendations that should be followed during a pregnancy.

The first visit to the gynecologist

The first appointment with the gynecologist usually takes place between weeks 6 and 9 of pregnancy, taking into account the date of the last menstruation, and during it, the gynecologist will assess the family history and history of both parents, as well as any important or relevant data for the proper development of pregnancy and to prepare the medical history.

In Babies and more First pregnancy control: the visit to the gynecologist

On this first date, The ultrasound performed in most cases is transvaginal, to confirm the presence of the amniotic sac and if detected, the fetal beat. Although this ultrasound is important and is the first one usually performed in pregnancy controls to confirm that everything is as it should, there is an even more special one.

Your baby's first ultrasound appointment

The day has come. Finally today they will attend the next pregnancy check and they will do the first ultrasound in which they will be able to see their baby for the first time. This first look at your little one is usually done during week 12, that is, almost at the end of the third month of pregnancy, the last one of the first trimester.

As on the first appointment, they arrive with the gynecologist and he will ask you some questions about how the mother has felt, the symptoms she has had and also, you will have the opportunity to discuss her doubts and concerns about pregnancy and development of your baby over the next few weeks. After that conversation (which will surely seem eternal to know what follows), the time will come to do the first ultrasound.

They will be transferred to the area where they have the device to do the ultrasound. The mother will lie down and leave her belly exposed, where they will put some gel and later, with a small instrument, begin to look for the best image of your baby, which can be viewed in real time on a black and white screen.

And then, they will see you for the first time. And they will feel their hearts flood with all kinds of emotions and their pregnancy will feel even more real. They will be amazed at the wonder that is taking place in front of their own eyes, and that very soon, they may have in their arms.

At first it may take a little work to distinguish it, but with the help of the medical staff you can see that your child (or children!) he already has his arms, legs and head formed. If your baby is awake and active, they can even see that he doesn't stop moving, kicking and shaking his arms and head.

To continue enjoying pregnancy

In addition to that they have already been able to see how your baby looks on the first ultrasound, now you can also begin to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy better, because in most cases, the terrible discomforts of the first trimester are disappearing. And if you have not yet given the news of pregnancy, you can even do it based on your baby's ultrasound.

Remember that A pregnancy is something unique and special that each couple and woman live differently, so focus on yours without falling into comparisons and enjoy the next two quarters before your baby arrives.
