Pakistani Taliban prohibit childhood vaccination

If I play with children's health it seems incomprehensible, when it is done for political reasons the question becomes deplorable. Many children in Pakistan are at risk of getting sick from the ban on the Taliban from being given the polio vaccine.

Pakistan, one of the three countries in the world where polio is endemic, has just launched a national vaccination program against this disease. But, for the first time, about a quarter of a million children in tribal areas will not be part of it because of a ban imposed by the Taliban.

The reason given by the Islamist movement so that vaccines in the regions of North and South Waziristan are banned are US attacks on drones, and until this fact is stopped they will not allow the vaccine to be administered.

They argue that in reality those responsible for administering vaccines to children are "disguised" as toilets, and are on espionage missions in the area for subsequent aircraft attacks.

A spokesman for the World Health Organization, which supports the vaccination program, described it as a setback. Local authorities and other international organizations have also expressed concern about this fact. In addition, mixing political issues with children's health, blackmailing this issue is a despicable act.

The result of this nonsense of the ban on vaccinating children, derived from another, that of war, is that in these tribal regions of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, about 250,000 children are put directly at risk. We hope that the demands of these people will be heard in a more reasonable way.
