The Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Foundation promotes the economy and rural biodiversity through ICT

The Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Foundation has developed the MiTierra Maps platform, a technological project that seeks to promote knowledge and enhance the economy, biodiversity and culture of the Spanish rural and natural environment. The goal is to convert to rural world in a reference of sustainable entrepreneurship and national and international tourism. For this, the My Earth Maps site has been created, which includes geolocation tools. In addition, a free application called MiTierra Maps has also been developed, available for iOS and Android devices.

Mi Tierra Maps includes specific content for children, among which stands out, the new figure of Felix, called Little felix, which accompanied by his wolf Sibyl, brings the little ones closer, with a didactic and playful approach, contents in which they emphasize the importance of the balance between man and the Earth.

The My Earth page includes 3D technology, augmented reality and interactive games. Thus, children will know the most characteristic species of Spain, other than the most sustainable food production techniques with the environment. The goal is for parents and children to learn simultaneously the secrets of the Spanish rural world.

In the presentation of the project, the general director of the Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente Foundation, Odile Rodríguez de la FuenteHe explained that this project has created a showcase of the wealth of resources we have in Spain with great potential at the economic level, biodiversity and talent. Odile has also referred to the fact that the technological application is committed to interactivity and social networks because it allows the inclusion of opinions, comments and ratings in addition to creating its own content.

The project has the support of the Avanza 2 Plan of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism (MINETUR) and Telefónica.
