We often talk about educational and fun games, and today we bring one especially suitable for children to play with daddies: ThinkFun Roll & Play, a very peculiar test game in which children will demonstrate their skills.
The game is designed for children from 18 months, although they will love it until they are three or four years old. It consists of a plush dice with each side of a color and cards of those same colors that propose fun tests to children.
Children roll the dice to see the color that comes out, and they have to choose a card of that same color. In the letter we will find a beautiful illustration with the phrase that tells us what the challenge is. These are simple tests that the little ones can do, and that stimulate language, creativity, gross motor skills, learning colors, numbers…
The eight colors correspond to eight categories related to different learning areas: emotions, counting, colors, body parts, actions and sounds of animals. Thus, the activities are varied and types of tests alternate.
Some examples of “challenges” that they have to do are say goodbye with their hands, roar like a lion or moan like a cow, laugh out loud, fry their bellies, shake their arms, find objects of certain colors, make a sleepy face, sing a song, give hugs, tell ...
I especially liked that Roll & Play is a game to share time with our childrenWell, we are the ones who read the cards with the tests. But even children who are already beginning to read will like to put themselves in the role of readers and propose the challenges to siblings and parents.
In addition the game has infinite possibilities, because apart from interpreting the tests each in its own way (some will want to dramatize stories, for example with the animal they had to imitate), we can add new challenges simply with new colored cards that we prepare.
The game includes the large plush dice, 48 cards (eight of each category), a pocket for storing the cards and a small guide for parents.
There is an English version, the original game, and it is a game created by ThinkFun, world leader in educational games, founded in 1985 with headquarters in the United States. In Spain we find it in Spanish thanks to Merucurio Distributions in toy stores and childcare stores for a price of between 21-25 euros.
