Mérida, Pixar's last heroine, will be a new Disney princess

Disney has decided to incorporate Merida, the princess of Brave, to the list of princesses. Mérida will be the eleventh and it will be one of the ten already existing and that helps me to review my daughter: Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Cinderella, Beauty (without the beast), Jasmine, Snow White, Mulán, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Tiana.

The news has been very controversial, and the truth is that I don't understand why. I get the feeling that Pixar digestion by Disney is not something that many Pixar movie fans have sat very well. And as much as the producer of films as successful as Toy Story, Up, Ratatouille or The Incredibles, catches our attention, Your purchase for Disney has only one goal, make it profitable and make Disney bigger with a model that works: television, theme parks (see image) and hotels and of course films, its biggest media showcase.

I've seen this picture of before and after Merida and although the design is not very new and happens to be very princess, at least yes that face has been taken a little clueless and lost that looked in Brave for a more decisive, practical and direct.

I was also surprised that they leave the bow and arrows in their locker room which contrasts it with all the others that, although Rapunzel has his hair that he uses with skill, they don't have any type of weapon. And is that Disney princesses are beautiful, beautiful and look aesthetic standards of the current moment and seek global profitability with images in which many girls from many countries can look.

We will be attentive parents to tell them, as they grow up, the true endings of the stories. Now I think we have to let the children choose their princess or princesses and play and have fun with them.
