'High high as a mountain': a resource on the Internet to facilitate social understanding about autism

'High as a mountain', was born to become Help tool and meeting space for families and professionals dealing with children with Autist Spectrum Disordersto (ASD).

We found two women behind the project, and the link between them is Manuel, a four-year-old boy who has autism. They are Olga (her mother), and Esther (her therapist '.

Living with autism is like climbing an invisible mountain every day. A mountain that help us climb expert hands and give us encouragement when we need
The objective of Olga and Esther is provide an accessible idea about this disorder, which is based on two concepts: face and understand. They want to help families in the beginning of a process of acceptance of their new situation.

On the other hand it is intended facilitate social understanding about autism, especially at school. 'We pursue educational and social inclusion, we seek the optimization of resources through coordination between the different agents involved in the education of a child with autism: families, early care centers and school'.

One day while swinging, Manuel said 'tall as a mountain', and this put words to the thought that was around the heads of his parents ... he he had reached higher than they had imagined. This was part of the process of acceptance of autism in the family, and this acceptance is fundamental since this social group is the fundamental pillar in the development of a child with ASD.

Welcome to this project, which also seeks to join forces for families and schools agree to work in coordination to pay the attention that a child with autism needs, in order to develop properly.

The video you just saw, has been directed by Manuel's dad, is beautiful and is helping a lot in the dissemination and visibility of children with ASD; It's called 'Manuel's song'. You'll like it, enjoy it.

From here I congratulate Olga, Esther, and to all the people who work to facilitate the understanding of these disorders.
