DIY project: make a diaper for your children to play dads and moms with their dolls

A very important way in learning and developing new skills in our children is imitation. It has been known for some time that it is one of our main engines in development, we learn from what we see, imitate and adapt what we see around us.

I am sure that more than once you will have found your children feeding their dolls, quarreling them because they have misbehaved or taking them for a walk, especially in older brothers in their attempt to understand what it is to be an older brother. Today we bring a relatively simple craft to help in the play of your children, a DIY project: make a diaper for your children to play dads and moms with their dolls.

What are we going to need?

The materials that we are going to need for our DIY are very simple and we will recycle a little, which never hurts.

A sheet of paper is to make the pattern to be cut later so depending on the size of the diaper we will need a certain size. A pencil A strong cloth, an old towel, a pair of pants that we no longer use, some cloth that we have in a disguise that no longer serves us, Grandma's flannel gown and so we have the excuse to put on what we give her for his birthday, etc. Scissors, a craft can not be called that, if scissors or glue are not involved in the process. A velcro strip. A sewing machine Who doesn't have a sewing machine at home today? Well, okay, I don't have. But it is a good excuse to go buy one or take it to Grandma and help us. But, if none of the above works then we will have to sew by hand. Do we also not know / want to sew? Well, let's look for another tutorial.

And now?

Well, now we get involved. We look for our child's favorite doll or the one he tells us and we take the measurements on the paper. Once we have the pattern, we cut and verify that we have not been wrong. We should try it with different dolls to ensure that it will not break or that it can be adjusted to different waistlines, or you can make diapers of various sizes.

Once we have verified that it will serve us, we will cut the fabric, stick it or sew the velcro. Be careful with this step, watch that you place it in the right place. Once the velcro is well fixed, we review the edges of our diaper with the sewing machine (I think my grandmother called that edging, but don't pay too much attention to me).

There is only the practical class left to teach your children to change a diaper and hopefully they will remember it in a few years.
