"You're still too young for something so big," the creative Mexican campaign to prevent teenage pregnancy

Pregnancy in adolescence is a very big problem in Mexico. According to information from the National Survey of Girls, Boys and Women issued in 2015, it occupies the first place in teenage pregnancy, of the 34 countries that make up the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Now a creative and strong campaign to prevent it has caused a furor in social networks, generating hundreds of positive reactions.

The campaign launched by the Ministry of Health of the state of Tabasco is named "You're still too small for something so big"and his intention is make young people reflect on the enormous responsibility of having a baby, so that taking this into account they inform themselves and have a responsible sex life.

To illustrate their message they made use of a giant baby to represent the size of responsibility and commitment It comes to our hands when we become parents.

But what has undoubtedly caught the most attention of the campaign is a video in which they show what life would be like for teenagers if they were mothers and fathers of a baby.

"When a baby arrives everything is different and more if you are not of age to be a father. That something so beautiful does not become a burden. All in time. You're still too small for something so big"is the message heard in the video where some teenagers show us taking care of a baby.

The message closes with a call for young people to inform themselves by going to state health clinics or at the offices of the National System for Integral Family Development (DIF) in their area.

The truth is that although in real life there are no giant babies, being mothers and fathers in adolescence can become a problem, because it is a stage in which we go through many changes and we are still defining who we are.

The campaign has been very well received on social networks, the video has more than 5.5 million views, and although there are those who think that it is very direct or that it is not enough to raise awareness, most people consider the campaign to be excellent and comment that It is part of everything that can be done to prevent teenage pregnancy.
