The age of the male does not influence a pregnancy by assisted reproduction

A study prepared by the Valencian Institute of Infertility (IVI) shows that although age worsens the quality of semen in men, does not hinder pregnancy through assisted reproduction. The only limitation is made in men who have exceeded 70 years of age, although it is also true that there are very few men who want to be parents after having passed these years.

This study, the second in the world that shows the incidence of male age in pregnancy, will help men reduce their anxiety of thinking that they cannot be parents when they reach certain ages, men of 20 or 65 show the same rate of pregnancies the results being practically identical using assisted reproduction. The study shows the analysis of 4,900 cases corresponding to inseminations, in vitro fertilization or egg donations, the only requirement of the study was the woman's age, this was below 38 years, that of men instead It could vary. This study is much more significant than the first one, since in 1995 they did not have as many cases as today.

The new data has been presented at the Congress held in Lyon by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. Anyway, it is emphasized to always look for conception at much earlier ages that will allow a better pregnancy development and a shorter time distance.
