Winning video of the contest "I also have rights"

Some time ago we talked about an interesting proposal, an online short film competition on the rights of the child launched by the General Council of Spanish Law. Today we bring the winning video of the contest "I also have rights".

We recall that it was a project organized for the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the 20th of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

This video is created by Iago and his mother, whom we can read in his blog Speak for me, says Iago. Iago is a nine-year-old, autistic boy who becomes the protagonist of these images, communicating much more than we might think at first.

He tells us: "I want you to listen to me, see me, talk to me and love me." Isn't that what every child wants? And, beyond that, isn't every child's right?

"I also have the right" arose with the aim of making children's rights known to children and young people, as well as to the elderly, so that they respect them and make them respect without exception or discrimination. And I think that the selected video is a good example of children's wishes, expressed by themselves.

Congratulations to Iago and his mother for this emotive video winner of the contest "I also have rights", and to the organizers of the contest for making us know stories like these and making Children's Rights have their place.
