The "black pedagogy" It is a term spread mainly by psychotherapist Alice Miller, whom we have recommended reading, especially his work "For your own good."
Black pedagogy means that, with the aim of turning the child into a good person, who does not lie or harm others, it is lawful and even necessary to use physical abuse, punishment, emotional blackmail or threats.
In the background, the "black pedagogy", says Miller, is an attempt to dominate the child's will and turn him into a docile and obedient person, who does not reveal himself for fear of the damage his parents are going to cause him. The point is that, receiving this treatment, and being very difficult to admit that our parents damaged us, the same scheme is repeated, justifying the suffering received and, in a sense, the parents taking revenge on their children exercising the power that they themselves crushed.
Today it is rare to find defenders of beatings as an educational method, but if of minor blows, punishment, emotional humiliation, blackmail and threat, or simply repeated denial of the basic emotional needs of children, accusing them of these of manipulators or aggressive to justify the aggression, if not physical, if emotional.
If causing harm to another is wrong, it is wrong even if the expressed goal is to get the sujero of the damage to become good and part of the basis that children, by nature, are bad, selfish, violent and liars. But, if this is taken for granted, values are relativized and violence is justified if exercised by those who have the authority. The emotional, social and perpetuation consequences of violence are evident. We must look at our parents so as not to repeat their mistakes with our children.
There are values that cannot be relativized: respect for the weak, care, coherence and kindness. To achieve them, supposedly, the defenders of the "black pedagogy", they defend the use of what they apparently deny is valid, but in reality, they exercise and perpetuate it.
Just ask us and investigate what kind of education the most dangerous criminals or fascists received. We will encounter mutilated and battered children, not with loving and content environments. The violence of the "black pedagogy" it only sows submission and violence, because what children are receiving from their parents, whom very few become able to uncover.
