Little painters in action: decorate a Chinese lantern with the children

With the cold that is doing these days in many places, maybe this weekend you have thought to stay at home with the kids. Today I propose a fun activity for this occasion, or any other: paint a chinese lantern with the children.

To make our custom lamp we only need the Chinese lantern of fabric or paper and "embossed markers", a brightly colored pasty paint ideal for decorating those materials. These lamps are found in any multi-price store, as well as special paintings.

But before we get down to work, the first and most important warning is that kids have to get a baby to protect their clothes, because when decorating the lamp it is common for them to get stained.

Even the hair runs "danger", especially if they wear it long, because it is a painting that costs to remove (I tell you that I saw my daughters three days with some colorful wicks). So with collected hair they will be safer, and with a shower cap also very funny.

Once we are ready, we open the chinese lantern, which can be round, square, rectangular ... the one we like the most to decorate a corner. We only have to paint it to the taste of the children, taking care when turning the lamp so that the drawings do not spoil.

You have to put the right measure of paint, because when you squeeze the pen tube the first few times, if we do not control the amount, it may be too much. I recommend you do (and have the children do) a small paper test to check the pressure that we should apply.

If the children are young, the final style is quite abstract but very colorful. Flowers, the sun, clouds and birds, the moon and the stars or even the names of children or family figures are other possible decoration options.

In the end, we will have our chinese lantern decorated with children, which must be dried and then placed where we want The kids will be delighted with their creation and the good time we will spend. And so do we!
